This game will be played at Caesars Superdome at 6:09 PM ET on Saturday, April 2, 2022.

Why bet on Kansas:

✅ Kansas has superior depth to Villanova even when the Wildcats are healthy. Now you throw the injury to Justin Moore into the mix, and the Jayhawks have an even bigger advantage in the depth department. Expect Villanova to struggle to balance the need for their players to get rest with their need to play their top players just to keep up with the Jayhawks.

✅ Remy Martin has been the difference maker for the Jayhawks in this tournament off the bench. He has scored in double figures in five of Kansas’ last six games for Kansas, and has done so off the bench. Expect Martin to provide a spark off the bench once again for a Kansas team that should advance to the championship game.

✅ Kansas is the highest seeded team remaining in this tournament, and has shown an ability to pull away from their opponents in the second half throughout this tournament. They will showcase that same ability in this game, especially with Villanova lacking the healthy bodies to play at their best for all 40 minutes here.

Villanova Wildcats

The Villanova Wildcats have answered every challenge sent their way in this NCAA Tournament, most notably beating Michigan and Houston to get to the Final Four. While the Wildcats have not consistently dominated on the offensive end of the floor, they have done enough scoring to make it here. The defense of the Wildcats has been especially impressive in this tournament, holding Houston under 50 points in their last game to punch their ticket to New Orleans.

In this game, the Wildcats will need to figure out how to replace Justin Moore, who is out of this contest with a torn Achilles. Moore featured in a starting role for Villanova, in a seven-man rotation for Jay Wright’s team. Without him, Villanova is going to have to figure out how to manage his rotation.

Kansas Jayhawks

The Kansas Jayhawks are two games away from winning their second NCAA Tournament under Bill Self. They are the highest remaining seed in the tournament, and the only one-seed to make it to the Superdome. Ochai Agbaji is a huge reason for that success, as he and Remy Martin have been the scoring threats that have propelled Kansas to a Midwest Region title.

Kansas has been a second half team throughout this tournament, as they showcased in the Elite Eight against Miami. The Jayhawks outscored the Hurricanes 45-17 in the second half of that game, leaving no doubt as to who would be advancing. In this game, a similar second half could be necessary to put away a resilient Villanova team.
